The Great British Dog Show

GREAT BRITISH DOG SHOW

The Great British Dog Show was a huge success, lots of people came with their dogs and enjoyed all the fun and games of the big day:

Five Chairties came along with stalls promoting their care and support of animals in the community: Blue Cross, RSPCA Martlesham branch, Guide Dogs, Cats Protection and Suffolk Animal Rescue.Penny Parker from the Guide Dog puppy walkers gave a presentation on all the great work that her and her colleagues do to bring up dogs ready for training.Penny Parker with Stirling the Guide Dog Puppy and Umber

Thanks to everyone who came along and helped to make it all happen. Several of our drug companies donated large prizes to: Virbac, Bayer, Vetplus, Vetquinol, Alstoe; and special thanks to Joseen, from Merial, for coming along and promoting the preventation and treatment of fleas and ticks.

Mrs. Thompson Carr had the difficult job of judging the dog show, it was hard work in the heat, and she had some very tough decisions. We hope everyone went home happy and we thank her for doing a fantastic job.

The unusual antics of Leonardo and Dolgardo performing a dance routine and play fight was a very amusing and amazing how they didn't overheat.Thanks to Tom and Pat judged the cat photo competition another very difficult task.

Golden Oldies: 1st place was Stripey owned by Mr. Beeson
2nd place was Gizzy and Larry owned by Mrs. Stirling Yeatman

Work Rest and Play: 1st place was Melek-kie owned by Mrs. Daniels
2nd place was Blue owned by Mrs. Munro

Cutest Kitten: 1st place was Ted owned by Mrs. Munro
2nd place was Ebony owned by Mrs. Liffen

1st place in the small dog category was Jimmy Moreton (4.53sec)
1st place in medium-large dog category and fastest overall was Dudley Pipard (3.28sec)
1st place in the veteran category was Indie Minter (4.40sec)

It was the biggest raffle we've organised and it was down to for selling so many tickets and surviving fluctuating temperatures.Big thanks for the Sausage shop and Roberto's Ices for all the catering and also for the everyone who contributed a home made cake
